February is in the house! Whoot Whoot! (I may be partial to it since it’s my birth month)!
What an amazing month this is going to be! If you haven’t heard the news, I won the Powers grant from the Washington Wine Industry Foundation and will be heading to Chile! The grant is for a sabbatical and I will be gone for 3 weeks. (This is hard for a control freak!) They actually recommended that I go for a month; however, I couldn’t swing that. I will be traveling with Jon Wells who will be video taping my interviews and time spent over there. My goal is to bring back and put together something that will benefit the Washington Wine Industry for years to come.
On top of that we did amazing at the judging competition for the San Francisco Wine Chronicle, and I will be in San Francisco to pour at the event on 2/17. Our 2016 Eternal Sunshine Viognier and 2015 Eternal Rocket Man Red both won gold! On top of that we won 5 silvers and 2 bronzes. From there I’m in Napa for a day and than Chile for 3 weeks.
More great news you ask for? If you’re a fan of Walla Walla wines you won’t want to miss out on Taste Walla Walla in Seattle! This event is Feb. 12th and proves to be a great event as this is our second year participating. We have 2 pouring events in Seattle that day and Sally Dingle, our Director of Good Vibes, will be pouring the other event. This event is at the Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery.
We had a great time pouring last month in Issaquah and will be working on more events with Capri Cellars. We have so many events and pouring’s coming up, it’s almost insane! The next 2 months I will be sleeping in other cities than Walla Walla at an almost 2:1 ratio! Not to mention we are working on bottling our wines for the spring release!
I now need to ask a favor from you. We are working hard to get the news out there about our amazing wines and staff but we cannot do it alone. I ask that you take a second and review us on any platform that you feel comfortable with. Google, Facebook, Yelp, Trip Advisor are a couple to name. I appreciate it, my friends!
Our downtown tasting room will continue to be open Wed-Sun, and our airport location Fridays and Saturdays.
Ivan Huera, Mari Gisele, Clarice Swanson and Robert Gomez, AKA Zemog Otrebor, are all back in the tasting room as their unique styles make them local favorites. Free live music is from 5:30-7:30pm.
